The Dayton Audio Reference Series subwoofers take the quality and performance of the much acclaimed RS line into the subwoofer realm. As with the rest of the Reference Series, the main focus of the RSS265HF-8 10" subwoofer is ultra-low-distortion. Second, third, and intermodulation distortion are kept extremely low by utilizing three short-circuit paths within the motor structure. A durable aramid fiber spider and extensive venting throughout provide quiet and uniform excursion. The black anodized cone, rubber surround, and custom basket give this driver a unique, high-end look. Choose this High Fidelity (HF) version for home speaker systems when your priority is clean, low bass and you are not restricted by cabinet size.

Very Clean Subs
By: Dean Penrose on 8 January 2018I am building a SQ system for my 2009 VW Golf. I purchased 2 of these Subwoofers and built a 56L sealed enclosure for each of them. This made for a QTC of about 0.68 from memory. They are amazingly detailed and clean sounding in the car. After some eq to get rid of the cabin induced peaks, these subs have a nice up sloping response from 80HZ up to 20 hz and then they play ruler flat to below 10hz where my measuring equipment stopped. When playing the track "Basstronics - Bass I Love You" there is a note in the song which i believe is around 7hz and these subs make your whole body pulsate inside the car. I am only getting this huge amount of low end performance because these subs are playing in a small cabin but they would be very clean if used in a living room as well
