Replaced 2.5 inch mid range in e46 with Harmon kar
By: Bernard on 8 October 2014Used this speaker to replace the 2.5 inch HK mid range speakers (front door) in my BMW e46 convertible! The old paper midrange had ripped! Despite being a 3 inch speaker it fits easily in the oem bracket with the tweeter! I didn't secure it with screws, but placed sound foam around the front ring and on the magnet to prevent vibration. The oem bracket holds the speaker firmly against the door. Sound is amazingly clear compared to stock. The combination of this as a midrange combined with the tweeter really provide clarity - maybe too much for some in the confined space of the car, but I love it. Acoustic guitar work sounds astounding and brass on some "The cure " tracks really comes to life.
