The shielded version of the famous Dayton Audio Silk Dome, this tweeter offers the same performance but in a CRT-safe design. Features a 1-1/8" silk dome with a ferrofluid cooled voice coil for superior damping. A damped rear chamber lowers the resonance point and provides a very smooth natural sound with excellent on and off axis response. Recommended for crossover points as low as 1,800 Hz, making it ideal for most 2-way speaker designs.

Good Sound, Good Value Tweeter
By: Geoff Millar on 11 November 2016I'm using this tweeter in Curt Campbell's "Tritrix" MTM speakers, which also feature the Dayton DC130BS-4 mid woofer. They sound very smooth on and off axis and seem to handle a decent amount of volume without any trouble. Things like cymbals and violin harmonics come across really well, for example. The DC28 is easy to handle in a crossover, too: the Tritrix and many other designs which use the DC28 only require a second order crossover. The tweeter comes packed with a plastic protective moulding which doubles as a cool mounting template, great idea. The only drawback of this tweeter is that the silk dome is a real dust attractor and you will need to use a grille to protect the dome. Good value for the performance, recommended
